For most yoga teachers, the anatomy section of their yoga teacher training was the part that left them overwhelmed, bored and wondering how they'd actually integrate the information in to their teaching. This 2 day experiential workshop approaches yoga anatomy from an entirely different perspective and brings it alive within the context of yoga teaching.
It strips back the vast world of anatomy to focus on just 12 essential structural muscles which protect the spine and hold the skeleton in place. It reveals how building strength and flexibility in these muscles can create transformational results in your students' yoga practice and overall wellbeing. And how as a yoga teacher, your practical knowledge of anatomy can enrich your teaching content.
In our modern lives of sitting too much and moving too little, the 12 key structural muscles of the body are often underused and underworked. They have a huge relationship with the nervous system and movement. And quite simply, when these muscles are not working properly, our bodies are not moving or working properly either.
As a yoga teacher with an understanding of functional anatomy, you will be able to identify weak and under-functioning muscles in your students, and choose the yoga poses to engage them, and build their strength and flexibility.
This will create real results for your students and take both their wellbeing and yoga practice to truly transformational levels…. Setting you apart from other yoga teachers and having your students coming back for more.

Understand what these muscles do, how they interact and how pain and injury can result when they’re not functioning properly
